| STEEL
All units are fabricated from grade 350 high tensile galvanised
steel for strength and longevity (not the cheaper mild steel). All fittings
used are ss 316 stainless steel for rust free performance and aesthetic
appeal for the life of the unit. Nylock nuts ( these will not vibrate
loose) are also a standard fitting.
FABRICS
The shade fabrics are a knitted polyethylene @ 99% UV
block depending on the colour, there are 36 different colours to choose
from, these fabrics are shower proof.
Waterproof fabrics are available in either PVC, 42 colours, "Driz"
a laminated shade fabric, 13 colours, or your choice of "Solar Shield"
polycarbonate sheeting with 7 colours or in clear panels. Another option
for a waterproof / hail proof cover is corrugated iron in 20 standard
designer colours with 30 premium colours available on request.
POWDERCOATING
All structure components are powder coated to your wishes to match or
contrast with your decor, 105 colours including Corporate, pearls or special
FX.
HIP ROOF DESIGN
Steel framed units are a practical and effective method of providing outdoor
protection. These structures are very strong by virtue of their construction
(all the unit components are either bolted or sleeved together and are
mutually self supporting) these structures are able to withstand high
/ gale force winds with ease. The slope of the units roof is set at 13.4
degrees this, in conjunction with the units high tensile steel support
posts gives longevity and complete safety regardless of weather conditions
. The structures fabric top is stretched over the frame and tensioned
with a 8mm dia continuous wire around the perimeter. The fabric hemline
is level all-round providing more shade and clean aesthetic lines. The
fabric tops can be removed off the fames in approximately 10min. for storage
over holidays or winter to negate any potential vandal damage or allow
more light into the area.
Framed units are fabricated in either rectangles, squares, triangles,
hexagonal or octagonal or manufactured "off set" or custom made
to your requirements.Mulituple units can be linked together on common
posts to cover large areas.
SHADE SAILS
Standard or custom made shade sail structures are an alternative method
of providing shaded areas. Shade sails use support posts set at various
heights to achieve a sculptured sail effect with the shade fabric. This
enhances aesthetics, provides shade where required and when required,
this also directs rainwater off the unit to the low points. Depending
on the height of the posts this effect can be either striking or moderate,
ie dramatic curves and falls from post to post or a gentle slope to one
or more points.
An added advantage with sails is that they can be used with great success
in irregular shaped areas by using the natural curve of the fabric or
an accentuated curve designed into the fabric to go around objects in
the shade area, ie trees, posts buildings etc. The posts that support
the sails do not have to be set in any regimented shape and can be placed
where required in most cases, ie away from traffic flow areas. Shade pro
has standard sail sizes or we custom design to your own specifications,
there is no charge for this design service. Tensioning wires in the sail
hemlines are either 4mm or 6mm stainless steel 7/19 construction, these
are cut to length and tuned / crimped on site for a perfect drum tight
finish with the fabric. Units that are not tensioned properly will move
or flap in the wind causing extreme wear and strain on the fittings and
supports.
It is crucial the posts are strong enough to cater for post flexing and
the tension on the sail due to wind loadings in storm conditions. High
tensile steel is the only way to do this as cheaper mild steel posts will
bend. likewise the footings have to be big and deep enough to hold the
posts without moving. There is no way to evade the above and have a good
result, if not done properly the result will be, either or all of the
following, a loose flapping sail, bent posts or loose footings and no
one happy!
Foundation dimensions for sails are large as the posts are “stand
alone” and the wind loadings in storm conditions can be extremely
high, typically 450mm diameter x 1.4m to 2.2m deep for small /large sized
units so machine drilling is required for the holes.
RETRACTABLE AWNINGS
Retractable awnings either manual or powered ( wind/sun sensors can be
fitted if required ) are available in a wide range of designs and colours
to cater for temporary use as required. Security / insect screens "Crimsafe"
security door systems and internal shutters are available on request.
Rotal louvers with interlocking blades to control sun/wind and rain can
be custom built to cover most areas.
PORTABLE SHADE
To cover the "fully portable" shade unit market Shadepro manufactures
a range of portable/ dismountable units @ 4m x 4m or to your requirements.
A large range of EZ-UP "pop up" portable shelters in various
colours and sizes are also available from 3m x 3m to 3.6m x 6m.
